The European Tree Climbing Competition and Trade Show, held in Deventer, in the Netherlands, brought together the top climbers from throughout Europe to compete for male and female titles; the particularly tall masters tree caused some of the Masters Competitors to struggle with getting a line in, but experienced Jo Hedger (from the UK), landed her line well and went on to win the female title. Ever popular Johan Gustavsson from Sweden completed his climb to take the title in the mens class.
A number of trade stands were also there at the event, as was Team Simarghu, supporting their European dealers with demonstrations of their products and enjoying the popular event in a beautiful public park, in the centre of the town.
This was the last venue for the present European support visits but Team Simarghu will be at the Womens UK weekend in September at Coventry, explaining the adjustability and anatomical benefits of the new Gemini harness to a good cross section of female climbers, coming from all over to enjoy this event which is aimed at exchanging techniques, learning new ones and enjoying the company of other like minded people, whilst picking up tips and hints from the workshops planned, for use in future competitive events.
We look forward to it.
